PRIVACY & POLICIES

PRIVACY

Confidentiality is one of the most important components between a client and the psychotherapist. The law protects the relationship between a client and their therapist, and that information can not be disclosed without written consent or permission.

However, there are circumstances that are considered exceptions that we will be required by law to report to the appropriate authorities, including Child Protective Services, Department of Children and Families, or local law enforcement. These situations include:

  • Suspected past or present child abuse or neglect, dependent adult or elder abuse or neglect.
  • If the therapist has reason to suspect the client is seriously in danger of harming themselves or presents a physical danger/harm to another person(s).
  • Client authorizes release of information with his/her signature. NOTE: By using your insurance you are authorizing release of any information to your insurer.
